Schizophrenia

It is characterized by distortions of thinking, perception and inappropriate affect. People may feel that they can see or hear or feel things not experienced by others ( hallucinations). They may feel as if they are controlled by some outside agency or sometimes even that their thoughts are withdrawn and known by others or new thoughts are being inserted into their minds. Sometimes a person may start believing that people are spying/ tracking them and are plotting against them at times they may believe that they have special powers or may sometimes have some bizzare beliefs which are not in keeping to the persons sociocultural background (delusions).
